Sofía Margarita Vergara Vergara is a Colombian-born actress, model, and entrepreneur. Vergara was already rather well-known in North America from her modeling work, and her first notable acting job in English was in the 2003 movie Chasing Papi. She currently stars on the critically acclaimed ABC sitcom Modern Family as Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, for which she has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
